Wibke Neugebauer

Prof. Dr. Wibke Neugebauer is a Professor for Conservation and Restoration of Paintings and Painted Sculptures at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. She serves as Chair of the Conservation and Restoration Study Commission and coordinates the CAMA scientific network on artists' materials archives.

• Education: Diploma in Restoration and Technology of Paintings (State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart), Doctorate in Philosophy (Dresden Academy of Fine Arts)
• Research Focus: Art-technological research of tempera and oil paints, synthetic organic pigments, varnish production, and DNA microarray applications in conservation

Her work spans historical painting materials (e.g., beta-naphthol pigments, Naphthol Green B) to modern conservation techniques. Recent projects examine European artists' paint manufacturers' archives and interdisciplinary collaborations in art restoration.
