Weston Baxter is a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) in the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London's Faculty of Engineering. He directs the Interaction Foundry, an interdisciplinary research group focused on behavioral science and design interventions across public, private, and third-sector projects. His roles include Year 1 Programme Lead for the Innovation Design Engineering programme (joint with the Royal College of Art) and former Visiting Design Research Fellow at TU Delft.
Research Interests:
- Behavior Change: Designing interventions for sustainability, health, and safety across cultural boundaries.
- Human Connectivity: Enhancing meaningful connections in coworking spaces and addressing societal challenges like loneliness.
- Psychological Ownership: Exploring ownership perceptions in products, services, and ideas to inform business models and workplace design.
- Contaminated Interaction: Addressing negative experiences in shared spaces/products through design solutions.
- Ritual Design: Creating intentional rituals for organizational and cultural impact.
Teaching & Professional Work: Leads modules on behavioral intervention design and industry collaboration. Offers consulting and training for organizations on behavioral challenges and innovation.
