Dr Wesley Moss is a Lecturer at the UWA School of Agriculture and Environment and serves as Agricultural Technology Theme Lead at UWA’s Centre for Engineering Innovation: Agriculture and Ecological Restoration. He holds a PhD from UWA along with MPE, BSc, and DipModLang qualifications. His expertise spans agricultural engineering, precision agriculture, and sustainable technology development.
Dr Moss has conducted research at North Carolina State University and USDA Agricultural Research Service through a 2023 Fulbright Program, focusing on precision sustainable agriculture and weed control technologies. His teaching portfolio includes courses like Fundamentals of Agricultural Science and Engineering Drawings, for which he received a 2023 UWA Excellence in Teaching Award.
Research interests include sustainable seed harvesting systems, precision machinery design, and agricultural innovation. Key projects involve developing novel subterranean clover seed harvesting techniques and improving crop breeding efficiency through correlated trait analysis. He leads three active grants focusing on autonomous agriculture education, precision weed management, and sustainable seed harvesting technologies.
Awards include the 2023 UWA Excellence in Teaching Award and multiple teaching commendations. He collaborates with industry partners to bridge research and practical applications in agriculture.
