Wesley Longhofer is an Associate Professor of Organization & Management and Executive Academic Director of Emory University's Goizueta Business School Business & Society Institute. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Minnesota and a BA from Texas Christian University. His research focuses on organizational sociology, climate change, human rights, and non-profit organizations with a particular emphasis on global governance challenges.
Longhofer's work examines complex societal issues such as NGO funding restrictions, carbon emissions from power plants, and civic action effectiveness. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and featured in prestigious journals like Administrative Science Quarterly and Nature Communications. Notable publications include Super Polluters (2020), analyzing extreme carbon emitters, and a 2025 study on stranded fossil fuel assets' impact on emissions.
