Dr. Wendy Kerr is an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern College (Iowa), serving in the online Master of Education programs. With nearly three decades of experience in K-12 education, she has served as a principal, district curriculum director, and leadership coach, bringing extensive practical insight to her university teaching.

Research & Professional Interests
Dr. Kerr’s scholarship and practice center on systemic school improvement, principal and teacher leadership development, and innovative curriculum design for post-pandemic recovery. She is currently designing a statewide T-TESS calibration training for Texas and has authored COVID-recovery curricula adopted across multiple districts. Her work integrates instructional coaching models, data-driven decision-making, and culturally responsive leadership practices.
Her national recognitions—including the Crayola Creativity Leadership Grant and California Principal of the Year—underscore her impact on instructional innovation and equity-focused leadership.

Leadership & Service
Beyond her adjunct role, Dr. Kerr operates as an independent contractor, private teacher, and executive leadership coach. She has trained and certified hundreds of school-site principals and district administrators, co-created California’s first Teacher Leader Certification Academy, and led a comprehensive turnaround of a low-performing elementary school. She also volunteers internationally, including service in the Dominican Republic through the Lifetouch Memory Mission.
