Wendy Grasdahl is a Sessional Lecturer in Music at King's University, specializing in Instrumental Conducting and Brass Techniques. She holds a B.Mus. in Music History from the University of Alberta, an M.Mus. in Trumpet Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Calgary, and a graduate-level diploma in Wind Conducting. Her professional career spans military band leadership (Canadian Naval Reserve), university teaching across Canada, and ensemble performance with groups like 'Five of a Kind' and Mill Creek Colliery Brass Band. She founded Festival City Winds Music Society, celebrating 25 seasons in 2020.
Grasdahl has received multiple accolades including the Alberta Band Association’s Vondis Miller Legacy Award and Edmonton’s Salute to Excellence Award. As an adjudicator, she evaluates music festivals across eight provinces. Her military service includes conducting bands in Alberta, B.C., Ontario, and Nova Scotia. She remains active as a clinician for summer music programs and school ensembles.
