Dr. Wendy D. Churchill is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of New Brunswick, specializing in Early Modern Britain, its empire, and the social history of medicine. She holds a Ph.D. from McMaster University (2005) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University College London's Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine. Her research examines gender, race, and class in medical practice, with particular focus on patient-practitioner relationships in Britain and its empire from 1600–1830.

Current work focuses on a monograph about medical professionalism and ethical codes in imperial contexts.
Teaching emphasizes skills development through primary source analysis, digital archives, and blog assignments. She integrates UNB Libraries resources to build transferable research skills for students.
