Lyndsey Jenkins is an Associate Professor and Tutorial Fellow in History at Mansfield College, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on women’s activism, gender, and class in 19th- and 20th-century Britain, particularly within the Labour Party and suffrage movements. She holds a doctorate from Wolfson College, Oxford, and has held posts at multiple Oxford colleges. Her work has been supported by the Leverhulme Trust, Royal Historical Society, and Churchill Fellowship, among others.
Her recent projects include a book on Joyce Butler (MP), collaborations on women’s political history with institutions like Bruce Castle Museum, and co-editing collections on women’s grassroots politics (2024) and formal political participation (Oxford UP, 2024). She also leads a Royal Historical Society-funded project on motherhood and the Labour Party with Charlotte Lydia Riley.
Teaching includes courses on women’s liberation, the 'New Woman' in Britain, and gender history. She is affiliated with the Centre for Women’s, Gender and Queer Histories at Oxford, focusing on gender, class, and emotions in modern British history.
