معرفی
Wendy Boehmler, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Biology at the Kinsley School of Engineering, Sciences and Technology, York College of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative mechanisms using zebrafish as a genetic model, with emphasis on dopamine receptor signaling and toxicological effects of environmental chemicals. She teaches advanced biology courses including Neurobiology and Genetics.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine
- B.S. in Biology, King’s College (2001)
Research Interests: Dr. Boehmler investigates genes involved in brain development and neurodegenerative processes, leveraging zebrafish models to study chemical impacts on nervous system development. Her work integrates molecular genetics, behavioral analysis, and toxicology to understand neurological pathways.
Affiliations: Member of the Committee for the Health Professionals, Premedical Society Advisor, and active participant in organizations like the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and Council for Undergraduate Research (CUR).
