معرفی
Wen-Sinn Yang serves as Professor of Cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich since 2004, maintaining an active international career as soloist and chamber musician. His institutional affiliations include a 2016/17 Artist in Residence position with Taiwan's National Symphony Orchestra (Taiwan Philharmonic), and collaborations with leading orchestras including Bavarian Radio Symphony, NHK Tokyo, and Royal Philharmonic.
Yang's artistic research centers on expanding cello repertoire through dual pathways: reviving 19th-century virtuosos (Servais, Davidov) and championing contemporary works (Reimann, Yun, Gubaidulina). His performance philosophy merges historical awareness with modern expression, particularly evident in chamber music explorations like the Latin Grammy-winning Brazilian repertoire project. This interdisciplinary approach bridges performance practice, musicology, and cross-cultural exchange.
His major recognition includes:
- Latin Grammy Award for Best Classical Album (2015) for "Alma Brasileira"
As an educator, Yang mentors through university instruction and global masterclasses, emphasizing technical mastery and artistic exploration. His 30+ recordings—featuring world premieres and historically significant interpretations—demonstrate sustained artistic output supported by university affiliation, performance contracts, and recording partnerships. Current projects continue his mission of opening "new perspectives for listeners" through repertoire innovation.
