Ricardo Morales serves as Adjunct Professor of Clarinet in the Instrumental Studies department at Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance, while maintaining an active international performing career as Principal Clarinet of The Philadelphia Orchestra since 2003. He also holds a visiting professorship at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Morales began his musical training at the Escuela Libre de Musica alongside his five distinguished musician siblings. His artistic focus centers on clarinet performance, chamber music collaboration, and orchestral repertoire interpretation, with extensive solo and ensemble work spanning major international stages.
Morales' performance career features solo appearances with the Chicago Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, and U.S. Marine Band "The President's Own," alongside chamber music engagements at Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. His discographic contributions include the debut album "French Portraits," collaborations with Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, and the Latin Grammy-nominated Pacifica Quartet recording.
