Dr. Rie Suzuki serves as Clarinet Professor at Rowan University and teaches individual clarinet lessons at Temple Music Prep within Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance. She maintains an active performance career as a current member of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Princeton Festival Opera Orchestra, and Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, while frequently appearing as a guest artist with The Pennsylvania Ballet, Opera Philadelphia, and The Philly Pops.
Her educational foundation includes a doctorate from The Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University, where she earned the Orchestral Fellowship and Peabody Career Grant. Performance highlights feature concerto appearances with Rowan University Wind Ensemble (co-premiering Leshonoff's "Nekudim"), Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra (Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante), and U.S. Embassy-sponsored tours in Central America.
Dr. Suzuki's artistic focus spans Clarinet Performance, Chamber Music, and Orchestral Performance with emphasis on contemporary repertoire and collaborative projects. Her recent work includes recitals with the Poulenc Trio and recordings across Capstone, New World, Centaur, Naxos, and Warner Brothers labels, broadcast on WQXR, WRTI, and National Gallery of Art podcasts.
