Doris Hall-Gulati is an Artist-in-Residence and Senior Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music, specializing in clarinet and chamber music. She holds positions at Franklin & Marshall College and Lancaster Bible College. Her affiliations include the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Ocean City Pops Orchestra, and Opera Philadelphia, where she serves as Acting Principal Clarinet.
Education: M.Mus. in Performance from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), B.Mus. in Performance from the Peabody Conservatory (Johns Hopkins University). Her mentors included Ignatius Gennusa and Karen Tuttle.
Research interests focus on contemporary music performance, with a strong emphasis on premiering new works. Notable achievements include a Grammy Award for her role in Lansing McLoskey's ZEALOT CANTICLES and recordings on Naxos and New World labels. She advocates for new music through ensembles like Trio Clavino and Beyond Ourselves, supporting MCC humanitarian efforts.
Her performance milestones include debuts at Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall, as well as collaborations with The Crossing and Lyric Fest. She actively participates in disaster relief through the Catastrophic Relief Alliance, rebuilding homes post-hurricane in New Orleans (2019).
