Hirono Oka serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Instrumental Studies department at Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance, teaching violin, and provides individual lessons at Temple Music Prep. He maintains an active performance career as a current member of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
His education includes studies at Toho Conservatory of Music (Tokyo), San Francisco Conservatory, and Curtis Institute of Music under master teachers Ivan Galamian, Jaime Laredo, Arnold Steinhardt, Felix Galimir, and Stuart Canin:
