Dr. Wei-Lin Wang is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Ontario Tech University within the Faculty of Business and Information Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing (Quantitative Empirical Focus) from McGill University and an MBA from National Taiwan University. Prior to joining Ontario Tech, he served as a Research Associate at the Medill IMC Spiegel Research Center at Northwestern University.
His research focuses on product portfolio management, innovation, new product launches, customer engagement, and content marketing, with a methodological emphasis on business analytics and AI-driven insights. He is an active member of the Business Analytics & AI Research Group, which bridges computational methods with marketing and operations challenges.
His work spans both B2B and consumer markets, addressing strategic questions such as optimal product line structures (e.g., dual impacts of product variety), digital vs. in-person engagement efficacy, and customer-employee rapport in service encounters. His research has explored applications ranging from healthcare drug diffusion to urban parking system optimization.
