Wayne Tucker is an Adjunct Lecturer of Jazz at the Conservatory of Music, Purchase College, where he contributes to the jazz education program. Based in New York City, he is an active performer, composer, and multidisciplinary artist.
His research and artistic interests center on jazz innovation, blending traditional American Songbook standards with contemporary influences from pop, R&B, and hip-hop. As a performer, he leads his band The Bad Mothas, known for energetic reinterpretations of works by Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind & Fire, and has been featured in the New York Times for their street performances during the 2020 shutdown.
