Marques Carroll is an Adjunct Lecturer of Jazz Trumpet at the University of Illinois Chicago's School of Theatre and Music. A Chicago-based performer and educator, he specializes in jazz trumpet performance, pedagogy, and composition. He holds a Master of Jazz Studies Performance from DePaul University and has collaborated with renowned artists like Carmen Bradford, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Randy Weston. As a multifaceted musician, Carroll's work bridges jazz traditions with modern influences, including classical and hip-hop. He is also a Bach Artist, author of the Holistic Trumpet method series, and co-founder of JMarq Records. His albums The Ancestors' Call (2020) and Foundations (2021) showcase his compositional storytelling and cultural exploration.
