Dr. Warren Kim is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Piano at Wichita State University, affiliated with the School of Music within the College of Fine Arts. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Piano Performance with a minor in Piano Pedagogy.
His professional focus centers on teaching excellence, including courses in applied piano, piano literature, collaborative piano, and piano proficiency. He has extensive experience as an adjudicator for national and international competitions, such as the International Piano Performance Examinations Committee in Taiwan and the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Kim is an active performer. He has collaborated with renowned institutions like the University of North Texas and Carnegie Mellon University, performed as a soloist (e.g., Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 with the WSU Symphony Orchestra), and led chamber groups winning competitions like the Wolff-Bing Chamber Competition. His work includes opera accompaniment and broadcasts on KWCH.
He has held artist residencies at the RSO Aria Institute and Miami Music Festival, with performances across North America and Eastern Asia. Dr. Kim also serves as a church music director, organizing community fundraising concerts. His contributions earned the President's Volunteer Service Award, signed by former U.S. President George Bush.
