Walter Lowe, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor in Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch University New England. A former journalist with a 21-year career at the Chicago Sun-Times, he transitioned to clinical practice after obtaining his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in MFT from Purdue universities. His research focuses on reunification therapy for returning military personnel/incarcerated individuals and the development of Common Factors supervision models in therapy.

- MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue Calumet University
Dr. Lowe approaches social justice through a lens of fairness and inclusivity in therapy, drawing from personal experiences with discrimination and alignment with Dr. King’s nonviolent principles. He emphasizes ethical supervision practices that transcend specific therapeutic models, prioritizing universal therapeutic principles.
As an AAMFT Clinical Member and approved supervisor, he contributes to training future therapists. His personal interests include Aikido, yoga, songwriting, and fiction writing.
