Walter Ferrarese

Walter Ferrarese serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), where he maintains a tenured position as a senior lecturer. He actively contributes to the Conflict and Strategic Interaction (CIE) Consolidated R+D+I Group, focusing on game-theoretic applications to economic structures.

His educational foundation includes a Ph.D. in Economics obtained in 2018 from the University of Rome, Tor Vergata.

Research expertise centers on Industrial Organization with specialized investigation of vertically structured markets and horizontal mergers, supported by strong theoretical work in Game Theory and Microeconomic Theory. This dual focus enables analysis of strategic firm behavior in complex market environments, particularly relevant to regional economic contexts like tourism-dependent economies.
