Dr. Walter Dorn is a Professor of Defence Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) and the Canadian Forces College (CFC). He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and has served in numerous academic and operational roles, including Academic Coordinator for the National Security Programme at CFC, Chair of the RMC Master of Defence Studies Programme, and Deputy Director of Outreach and Community Development at CFC. His expertise spans arms control, peacekeeping, international law, and UN operations, with direct field experience in missions such as UN peacekeeping in East Timor and Ethiopia, and roles with the International Criminal Court and Sandia National Laboratories.
