Wago Kreider serves as an Associate Professor in the Radio, Television, and Digital Media program at Southern Illinois University, specializing in media art and experimental filmmaking that interrogates cinematic history's influence on environmental perception through reenactment strategies.
His educational background includes:
- M.F.A. from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University (2006)
Research focuses on experimental/documentary production, sound studies, architectural environments, and cinematic histories, with creative work analyzing how film shapes landscape interpretation. His films have screened globally at institutions including Museum of Modern Art (New York), Rotterdam International Film Festival, London Film Festival, Corcoran Gallery of Art, and Hong Kong Film Festival.
Kreider has completed artist residencies at Experimental Television Center (Owego), Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center (New York City), Basement Films/Experiments in Cinema (Albuquerque), and Berlinale Talents (Berlin International Film Festival).
