Dr. Wael El-Matary is a Professor and Section Head of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He leads the Manitoba Ambi-directional Longitudinal Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Cohort Study (MALPID) and is an Investigator at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM). His research focuses on clinical, epidemiological, and translational aspects of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including biomarker discovery, healthcare cost analysis, and quality improvement strategies.
