W. Blake Wilson serves as Director of the Wheat Law Library at the University of Kansas School of Law. He holds a J.D. and M.A. in Information Science from the University of Missouri (2004), and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (2000). His professional journey includes litigation support analysis at Shook, Hardy & Bacon and research roles at Polsinelli Shalton Welte Suelthaus before transitioning to academic librarianship. Current responsibilities include instructional services and library administration.
Research focuses on intersections between law and technology (computer law, intellectual property), cultural studies (Buddhism and the law, comic books and law), and law librarianship best practices. Teaching includes Advanced Legal Research and Research in Lawyering courses.
Presentations highlight innovative approaches to legal research and library management, including CLE sessions on digital strategies and library leadership. Active in professional development through workshops on managing legal resources and leveraging social media for legal professionals.
