Jordan Carter is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Kansas School of Law, a role she assumed in 2024. Previously, she served as a Visiting Assistant Professor (2021-2023) and Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (2021-2022) at the same institution. Her career includes judicial clerkship experience with the U.S. District Court for Kansas (2019-2021) and private practice as a Product Liability Associate at Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP (2015-2019). She earned a J.D. from KU Law (2015) and a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis (2011).
Her teaching focuses on foundational legal skills and professional development, including courses like Lawyering Skills I & II and Professional Identity Formation. Carter’s career bridges academia, judicial practice, and corporate legal work, emphasizing practical training and institutional DEI initiatives.
