Prof. Vladislav Suvák is a full professor of the history of philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy and Ethics, University of Prešov. He holds a PhD from Comenius University (2000) and became a professor in 2018. His research focuses on ancient philosophy, particularly Socratic and Cynic traditions, and their modern reinterpretations by thinkers like Heidegger, Foucault, and Patočka. He has conducted research internships at institutions including Charles University, Oxford, and the University of Cyprus. His work spans monographs, edited volumes, and peer-reviewed articles on figures like Antisthenes, Diogenes, and Seneca, emphasizing ethical practices and the concept of 'care of the self.'
