Vladimír Mikeš is a researcher at the Philosophical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, specializing in Stoicism, Ancient Philosophy, and Classical Rhetoric. He has held visiting positions at the University of Cambridge (2007) and the Sorbonne Paris (2005-2006) and earned his PhD from Charles University's Faculty of Philosophy in 2009.

- Previous roles: Researcher at Palacky University's Patristic/Medieval Text Center (2004-2011), part-time Editor for Hospice Association 'Cesta domů' (2009)
Research Focus:
Stoic action theory, philosophical rhetoric, determinism/compatibilism, and the intersection of ethics and language in antiquity. His work explores Stoic paradoxes, blending of substances, and comparative analyses between Plato and Stoics.
