Vladimir Laptikhovsky is a marine biologist and stock assessment scientist at the Lowestoft Cefas Laboratory since 2013. He leads ecological studies on squids, cuttlefishes, and octopuses, contributes to ICES working groups, and investigates marine ecosystems in the South Atlantic and Antarctic regions, including Ascension Island, Tristan da Cunha, Falkland Islands, and South Georgia. His work addresses fisheries management and marine resource conservation.

His research spans marine ecology, focusing on deep-sea biodiversity, fish trophic dynamics, cephalopod reproduction, and the systematics of marine invertebrates. Vladimir has described multiple new cephalopod species and authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications.
Current research collaborations include Antarctic fisheries management via CCAMLR and international projects on sustainable fisheries, such as in the Caribbean and EU-Morocco frameworks.
