Dannielle Green

Dr. Dannielle Green is an Associate Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), Cambridge. She joined the Department of Biology in 2016 and currently leads the Applied Ecology Research Group. Her research focuses on the ecological impacts of human activities, particularly pollution (microplastics, plastics), climate change, and invasive species, with a focus on marine and freshwater ecosystems.

Education:

• BSc (Hons) Marine Science, University of Sydney, Australia (specializing in rocky shore ecology)
• PhD in Marine Ecology, University College Dublin, Ireland (focusing on invasive oyster impacts)

Research Interests:

• Biological impacts of environmental stressors (pollution, climate change, urbanization)
• Biodiversity-ecosystem functioning relationships
• Biogeochemistry of marine sediments and nutrient cycling
• Marine benthos ecology and ecosystem resilience
• Interdisciplinary approaches integrating biogeochemistry, ecophysiology, and molecular biology
