Dr. Vivi Tan is a Lecturer in Law at RMIT University's School of Law, based at the City Campus in Australia. She holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne (2018–2024), focusing on integrating ICTs into dispute resolution processes with a focus on ODR for consumer disputes. Her research emphasizes ODR's role in enhancing access to justice, consumer protection, and aligning with rule of law principles. Her upcoming monograph on this topic will be published by Oxford University Press in 2026.
Her teaching spans contract law, commercial law, and law and technology for over 15 years. She has co-authored influential textbooks on contract and commercial law with Oxford and Cambridge University Presses. Her peer-reviewed work on ODR has garnered over 25 citations since 2019.
