Dr. Vito Lorusso is a researcher specializing in Greek philosophical manuscripts, particularly Aristotelian textual traditions and their pedagogical use in Byzantine scholarship. His work examines Cardinal Bessarion's manuscript collection to reconstruct historical teaching practices and knowledge transmission pathways.

Through the SFB 950 project, he investigates how ancient Greek manuscripts were annotated and adapted for educational purposes, revealing connections between material features and intellectual practices in medieval academia.
