معرفی
Dr. Anton Sadovskyy is a Researcher at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures at the University of Hamburg. His research focuses on Greek manuscript traditions, particularly the transmission history of Plato's works. He has been a Research Associate on the 'Etymologika' project investigating Greek-Byzantine lexica and previously worked on the SFB 950 project 'Manuscript Cultures in Asia, Africa and Europe'.
His primary research examines manuscript transmission pathways of classical texts, with special expertise in Plato's Laws. His work integrates philological analysis with codicological studies to trace the journey of manuscripts from Byzantine scriptoria to Renaissance humanist circles. Recent publications reconstruct scribal practices and scholarly networks that shaped the reception of Platonic philosophy.
Dr. Sadovskyy's publications demonstrate consistent focus on reconstructing textual histories through comparative manuscript analysis. His 2022 monograph establishes new methodologies for analyzing scribal variations in Platonic codices, while earlier work examines the cultural transfer of philosophical texts between Byzantium and Renaissance Italy.
