معرفی
Roles and Affiliations: Vishwa Deep Dixit is the Waldemar Von Zedtwitz Professor of Pathology and Professor of Immunobiology and Comparative Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. He directs the Yale Center for Research on Aging (Y-Age). His work focuses on immunometabolism and aging, particularly the role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in inflammaging and age-related chronic diseases.
Education: DVM from Haryana Agricultural University (1994), PhD in Veterinary Medicine from Hannover University (2000), postdoctoral research at NIH and Morehouse School of Medicine.
Research Interests: Immunometabolism, aging, inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and the impact of caloric restriction on healthspan. Key projects include studying FGF21’s role in thymic aging, ketogenesis’s effects on inflammasome activity, and CR mimetics for lifespan extension.
Awards:
- Nathan W. Shock Award (2017)
- Glenn Award for Aging Research (2016)
- Quest Diagnostics Young Investigator Award (2004)
- NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence (2004–2006)
Grants and Funding: Supported by NIH and Cure Alzheimer Fund. Research explores CR mimetics, NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitors, and immunometabolic pathways in aging.
Labs and Teams: Directs the Dixit Lab, which investigates aging mechanisms, and leads the Y-Age Center. Collaborates with experts like Gerald Shulman and Akiko Iwasaki on interdisciplinary projects.
