Virginie Martin is a Professor of Political Science and Sociology at Kedge Business School since 2000, affiliated with the Department of Strategy, Sustainable Development and Entrepreneurship. She holds qualification to direct research (HDR) in management science and maintains active engagement with national and international media platforms.
Her research centers on French political life with emphasis on democracy, political representation, citizenship, and radicalism. She extends this work into gender equality, feminism, and systemic discrimination, including economic analyses of discriminatory practices. Recent scholarship explores television series as pedagogical tools for understanding geopolitics, philosophy, and social structures, revealing her interdisciplinary approach bridging political science, sociology, and media studies.
Analysis of her publications shows consistent thematic evolution toward media's societal impact, with television series serving as analytical lenses for complex political and social phenomena. Her work increasingly connects academic theory with public discourse through accessible formats like essays and media contributions, while maintaining scholarly rigor in journals and academic presses.
Martin directs Kedge's Media Lab examining media's societal role and co-heads the scientific council of the Political and Parliamentary Review. As a qualified research director, she supervises doctoral candidates though specific advisees aren't publicly documented, and her grant activities remain unlisted in available sources.
