Virginia Bratton is a Professor in the Department of Business - Management at the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship, University of Montana. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Florida State University (2004), an M.A. in Arts Administration (1999), and a B.A. in Political Science and Cultural Arts from Concordia College (1995).
Her research focuses on business ethics, impression management, organizational identity, and performance appraisals. She teaches courses like Management and Organization (BMGT 335) and Leading and Managing People (BMGT 366). Her recent work addresses gender equity in business education and organizational politics.
Key contributions include studies on framing gender pay inequity (2023), student perceptions of business professionals (2024), and performance appraisal cynicism (2020). Awards include the 2017 Impact Award and nominations for gender equity recognitions (2022).
She serves on the Bozeman Symphony Orchestra and has led community initiatives via the One Valley Community Foundation (2011–2021). Her engagement includes refereeing for academic conferences and speaking engagements.
