Violeta Berdejo Espinola is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Multilingual Evidence Synthesis at the School of the Environment, The University of Queensland. Her research focuses on addressing language barriers in biodiversity conservation by integrating multilingual collaboration and AI technologies. She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from UQ and is actively involved in the Transcending Language Barriers to Environmental Sciences initiative.
Her work spans multilingual evidence synthesis, urban green space utilization in the Global South, and climate change impacts. She has published extensively in journals like Trends in Ecology and Evolution and Nature Sustainability, advocating for linguistically inclusive scientific policies and AI-driven solutions to equity challenges in conservation science.
Dr. Berdejo Espinola collaborates internationally on topics such as non-English scientific literature integration, public conservation awareness via media, and pandemic-related urban ecology dynamics. She is available for supervision and open to collaborative projects aiming to bridge language gaps in environmental research.
