معرفی
Dr. Sun Kim is a Research Fellow in the School of the Environment at The University of Queensland (UQ), affiliated with the Faculty of Science. He holds a PhD in Marine and Estuarine Ecology from UQ (2019). His research focuses on coral reef ecology, climate change impacts, and marine biodiversity conservation. Key areas include coral resilience to thermal stress, species vulnerability assessment, and ecological modeling frameworks to address data gaps.
Research Interests:
- Climate change impacts on marine ecosystems
- Coral reef dynamics and conservation
- Biogeography and species distribution modeling
- Ecological data synthesis and uncertainty reduction
Funding: Recent grants include projects on kelp biogeography in Korea, coral reef indicators for the Great Barrier Reef, and Symbiodiniaceae symbiosis research. His work bridges theoretical ecology with applied conservation strategies.
Advising & Grants: Currently not supervising students, but actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects. His funding portfolio includes support from the Australian Institute of Marine Science, Korean Ocean Science & Technology Institute, and the Australian Biological Resources Study.
Labs/Teams: Engages with global coral reef research networks and collaborative initiatives on marine spatial planning and climate resilience strategies.
