Vincent Tatischeff serves as Director of Research at the Physics of two infinites – Irène Joliot-Curie laboratory (IJCLab), a joint research unit of Université Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Cité, and CNRS. He specializes in high energy astrophysical phenomena with particular expertise in cosmic rays research.
Tatischeff completed his engineering degree at the Institute of matter and radiation sciences (ex-ISMRA) and earned an advanced studies diploma (DEA) in fundamental and nuclear physics from the Université de Caen in 1993, followed by a PhD in nuclear reactions at the heart of stars which he defended in 1996. His postdoctoral research was conducted at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
His research focuses on fundamental questions about cosmic rays: where high-energy particles originate in the universe, how they achieve relativistic speeds, and their effects on galactic ecosystems. Tatischeff has made significant contributions to gamma-ray astronomy, particularly through his involvement with the International gamma-ray astrophysics laboratory (INTEGRAL). His theoretical prediction about particle acceleration in novae was confirmed in 2021 when the same nova exploded again.
Tatischeff has developed innovative instrumentation including the COMCUBE project for miniature gamma-ray monitoring satellites that measure photon polarization, potentially providing insights into quantum gravitational effects, and ComptonCAM, a portable gamma camera for nuclear facilities.

Tatischeff has secured substantial funding through the Laboratory of Excellence (LabEx) label and receives support from the National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (Andra) for his ComptonCAM project. He continues to mentor post-doctoral researchers in theoretical physics while managing multiple large-scale projects.
As a key researcher at IJCLab, Tatischeff works within a collaborative environment that bridges theoretical astrophysics with practical applications in both space science and the nuclear industry, contributing to international space missions and developing instrumentation with dual scientific and industrial applications.
