Alessandro De Angelis is a Full Professor of Physics at the University of Padua and holds a concurrent position at the Technical University of Lisbon. He is actively affiliated with the National Institute for Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics (INFN) and collaborates with the University of Udine, contributing to major international astrophysics initiatives.
His research focuses on high-energy astrophysics, particularly the study of cosmic rays and gamma-ray emissions using advanced instrumentation. He played a key role in designing the MAGIC telescope in the Canary Islands and contributed significantly to NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope project.
His career includes a tenure at CERN during the 1990s, underscoring his long-standing contributions to particle and astroparticle physics. His interdisciplinary work bridges theoretical models with observational data from ground-based and space-borne detectors.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in public outreach and science communication, participating in interviews and educational programs such as TG3 Leonardo and Cosmic Ray Days.
