معرفی
Vincent Setola is an Associate Professor at the West Virginia University School of Medicine with dual affiliations in the Department of Neuroscience and Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry. He directs the Laboratory of Neuroscience and Genetics of Substance Abuse, focusing on molecular mechanisms underlying drug response and psychiatric disorders.
- Research spans neurotransmitter transporters (DAT/SERT/NET), RGS proteins (RGS12/RGS21), and opioid receptor signaling
- Develops opioid-sparing adjuvants and investigates schizophrenia-substance abuse comorbidity models
- Key methodologies include knockout mouse studies, behavioral assays, and receptor profiling
His publications (2016-2024) reveal expertise in neuropharmacology, opioid receptor dynamics, and genetic factors in addiction, with recurring themes in regulator of G protein signaling proteins and monoamine transporter modulation. Current work explores translational applications of biased agonists and chemosensory gene variants in disease.
Lab affiliations include:
- Laboratory of Neuroscience and Genetics of Substance Abuse
- Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (SOM)
