معرفی
Kendall Blumer is a Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. Their research focuses on signal transduction via G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in the cardiovascular, nervous, and visual systems, with emphasis on the role of RGS proteins as regulators, effectors, and integrators in GPCR signaling pathways.
- Director of the Blumer Lab, which investigates RGS protein mechanisms in hypertension, heart failure, anxiety, schizophrenia, vision, and drug addiction.
- Affiliated with the Neurodegeneration/HPAN group at Washington University.
Research spans biochemical, cell biological, genetic, and physiologic studies using knockout and transgenic mice, combined with biophysics techniques (FRET, FLIM, FRAP), molecular biology, pharmacology, and real-time imaging. Projects include mechanistic analysis of RGS proteins in cardiovascular diseases and signaling functions of the RGS7 family in neural and visual systems.
The lab is actively recruiting DBBS and MSTP rotation students for multidisciplinary research opportunities.
