Vilde Schanke Sundet

Vilde Schanke Sundet is an Associate Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University's Department of Journalism and Media Studies within the Faculty of Social Sciences. She specializes in media industry transformations, media policy, and audience studies with particular expertise in television. Currently leading the Research Council of Norway-funded project 'GLOBAL NATIVES? Serving young audiences on global media platforms' (2021-2025), she investigates how media producers and policymakers can remain relevant to younger generations in the streaming era.

Her research interests span media policy and regulation, new media, broadcasting, digitalization, social media, and streaming. With practical experience from the Ministry of Culture (2010-2014) where she served as media policy advisor and senior advisor, Sundet currently contributes to media governance as deputy chairman of the Broadcasting Council. She has authored the book 'Television Drama in the Age of Streaming' (2021) and co-authored 'TV - en innføring' (2010), establishing herself as a significant voice in Scandinavian media studies.
