Vikrant Kamble is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Arizona State University's Morrison School of Agribusiness and a fellow at the Global Labor Organisation (GLO). In August 2025, he will join Muskingum University as an Assistant Professor. He holds a Ph.D. and MS in Economics from Georgia Institute of Technology, an undergraduate degree from Mumbai University, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. His research focuses on environmental, resource, and development economics, examining the impacts of environmental policies, climatic shocks, and labor market dynamics. He teaches courses such as Business Operations & Planning and International Management and Agribusiness.
His research explores topics including agricultural policy reforms, climate mitigation strategies through afforestation, and the socio-economic effects of mining bans and natural disasters. Key findings include the unintended consequences of policy interventions on labor markets, agricultural productivity, and public health. Kamble's work emphasizes understanding trade-offs between environmental and economic outcomes in transitioning economies.
He is affiliated with the Morrison School and collaborates on projects addressing global development challenges. His research outputs include peer-reviewed articles in journals like Land Economics and Environment and Development Economics, as well as working papers under review at top journals. His current projects investigate health interventions for adolescent girls, regional fiscal autonomy impacts, and water scarcity effects on women's health.
