Victoria Squire is the Associate Head of School for Education and Student Experience within the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Plymouth, and a Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design with Typography programme. Her research focuses on the intersection of graphic design and health, and she co-edits the international Design Behaviors research journal under the United Designs Alliance, South Korea. She is also co-founder and managing editor of the Message: Graphic Communication Design Research journal, published by the University of Plymouth Press, and oversees its Open Access repository.
Victoria coordinates the Message Research Cluster, dedicated to advancing visual communication research across graphic design, typography, illustration, fine art, and publishing. She collaborates with other research clusters like Design Knowledge and iDAT, organizing events and fostering interdisciplinary dialogue. Her teaching expertise includes typography, editorial design, and studio-based learning environments, with a focus on mastery in graphic design education.
Additional roles include serving as a University Partnership Manager for UK collaborations, a mental health first aider, and former Subject Forum Chair within the Art & Design South West network. Her work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being through design research.
