Victoria Edmundson-Brown is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the Enhanced Clinical Practice (PgCert) apprenticeship at the University of Sunderland. She transitioned to higher education in 2020 after extensive clinical experience as a Mental Health Nurse (since 1994) and Adult Nurse (since 2000). Her roles include teaching post-registration courses focused on education, leadership, and clinical supervision. She holds a Biological Anthropology degree from Durham University, diplomas in Mental Health and Adult Nursing, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
Research & Teaching: Her current MSc in Education investigates mentoring practices to support newly appointed lecturers' transition from professional practice to academia. Key interests include reflective practice, health literacy, treatment engagement, and gendered norms in leadership. She supervises postgraduate dissertations and leads modules on clinical practice education.
Background: Clinical roles spanned tertiary mental health care, addiction services, and primary care. Her MSc research emphasizes mentoring contracts' role in developing technical competence and organizational enculturation.
