Tess Walker is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and AESiP at the University of Sunderland. She holds a Registered Nursing Studies degree (2011) and has extensive clinical experience in adult critical care, specializing in neuro-trauma at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. Her career transition to academia was driven by her passion for teaching, developed through mentorship roles and clinical training in CPR, phlebotomy, and ECG. She currently teaches the BSc (Hons) Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship and contributes to resuscitation and medical emergencies initiatives within her Trust.
Her research interests focus on adult critical care, neurology, simulation-based education, and human factors in healthcare. She actively participates in professional groups such as the resuscitation and medical emergencies committee and the physical health monitoring CQUIN group, emphasizing her commitment to clinical education and patient safety.
