Anna Hutchinson is a Lecturer in Children's and Young People's Nursing Practice at the University of Sunderland, where she has been since 2023. She is a registered children’s nurse with over two decades of clinical experience, including roles in Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) in the UK and Australia, and Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. Her expertise spans clinical education in critical care settings, and she teaches across nursing, midwifery, and paramedic science programs.
She leads modules in the BSc (Hons) Children's and Young People's Nursing Practice program, focusing on clinical skills development and bedside teaching. Her professional background combines hands-on clinical work with academic instruction, emphasizing student confidence and competence in high-acuity environments.
