Victoria Depew

Victoria Depew is an Associate Professor in the School of Stage and Screen at Western Carolina University's David Orr Belcher College of Fine and Performing Arts. She holds an MFA in Costume and Scenic Design from Rutgers University and a BA in Theatre Arts from University of the South.

Her teaching encompasses:

• Costume design and technology
• Costume crafts and construction
• Historical period styles

Research focuses on innovative costume design for theatrical productions, particularly:

• Opera and Shakespeare adaptations
• Modern interpretations of historical fashion
• Integration of fantastical elements in period costumes

Professional design credits include productions at Berkshire Theatre Group, American Shakespeare Center, and various New York City theaters. She maintains an active design practice alongside academic responsibilities.
