Vickie Barrett is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and ADR UK Administrative Data Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield's School of Human and Health Sciences, Department of Social and Psychological Sciences. She is Deputy Director of the Crime and Policing Research Centre and a member of the Centre for Citizenship, Conflict, Identity and Diversity. Her research focuses on punitiveness, public attitudes, and policy interactions across criminal justice, education, and welfare sectors. She holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield and has extensive experience as a probation officer and educator.

- Teaching: BSc Criminology course leader, modules on criminology, criminal justice, and research methods.
Her work examines school exclusions' links to offending, probation officer wellbeing, and generational shifts in public perceptions of rulebreakers. She employs mixed methods, including administrative data analysis and cognitive interviews.
