Laura Riley

Laura Riley is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice at Sheffield Hallam University's Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice. With 16 years of probation service experience, she specializes in youth justice, criminal exploitation, and youth-to-adult transitions in the criminal justice system.

She teaches across criminology, probation, and policing programs. Current research includes Ministry of Justice-funded evaluations of youth transition services, including an RCT-centered assessment of the Reach Programme and Positive Pathways Programme.

Publications examine probation practices for young adults and care leavers, emphasizing developmental approaches to offender management and ethical service design.
